Emergency & Storm Damage
For a fallen tree, a snapped limb or a stem left hanging after a storm, we provide emergency call-outs across West Cumbria from our base in Egremont: the tree is made safe first, then cleared and tidied. Call 07732 809228.

When a tree becomes urgent
West Cumbria takes the full force of Atlantic storms, and every named storm leaves the same aftermath: windthrown trees across drives and lanes, snapped crowns hanging over gardens, and stems rocking loose in saturated ground. Some of it simply needs clearing; some of it is genuinely dangerous and needs making safe before anything else.
If a tree or branch is on a building, a car or a power line, keep everyone clear and call us on 07732 809228. Where a power line is involved, call 105, the national power cut line, first, and do not approach.
What happens on a call-out
The first task is always to remove the danger: hung-up limbs are brought down under control, part-fallen trees are dismantled from a safe position, and unstable stems are secured or felled. Storm-damaged trees are among the most hazardous work in arboriculture, under tension in ways that are difficult to read, which is precisely where qualifications and MEWP access matter.
Once the site is safe, we clear, cut and tidy as on any other job, and can photograph the work as evidence if you are claiming on insurance.
Emergency & Storm Damage questions
How quickly can you attend?
It depends on your location and what else the storm has brought down, but the whole of West Cumbria is within about an hour of our Egremont base, and genuine dangers are prioritised. Call 07732 809228 and Mitchell will give you an honest arrival time.
Will my home insurance cover the work?
Storm damage is often covered where the tree threatens or has struck an insured structure; check your policy. We can provide photographs and a written description of the work to support your claim.
A neighbour’s tree has come down on my side. Whose responsibility is it?
In most cases the fallen material on your land is yours to deal with, though the tree owner’s insurance may contribute if the tree was known to be dangerous. The practical advice is to have it made safe first and resolve liability afterwards; we can document the tree’s condition while we work.
